IIM K hosted its Twelfth research seminar on February 13, 2025, for the year 2024-25. It was conducted by Prof. Simy Joy, Associate Editor, Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE) & Academic Visitor, University of East Anglia, UK.

The topic was Developing papers for Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE).

Abstract of the talk given below

Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE) belongs to the portfolio of journals by the Academy of Management along with AMJ, AMP, AMP, Annals and AMD. AMLE’s specific focus is on management leaning and education, and it is ranked as a 4* journal in CABS and A* in ABDC A* (Impact Factor 4.8).

The purpose of this talk is to help the audience understand how to develop papers for publishing in AMLE. The talk will include a thematic analysis of the papers published in AMLE in the period 2021-24, discuss the main types of submissions that AMLE accepts (along with samples) as well as decision criteria, and offer suggestions to successfully advance through the various stages of the publication process.

As part of its global outreach initiative, AMLE has been organizing Paper Development Workshops (PDWs) world over, and will be conducting a PDW in IIM Bangalore in April 2025 (CFP will follow shortly). After the talk, there will be an opportunity for faculty and doctoral scholars to informally discuss potential paper ideas for submission to the PDW. AMLE is committed to promoting research from India and is keen to use this as an opportunity to offer rounded developmental support to Indian authors.
