Sydney. The topic was “Using Emerging Market Context to Advance International Business Research”
The abstract of the talk is given below.
The large majority of international business (IB) theories were developed based on observation of firms in the West. Over time, there has been recognition of limitations of these theories in adequately explaining firm strategy in the emerging markets. The context of emerging markets are strikingly different to that in the developed markets and plays a significant role in shaping firm strategy. This talk, with examples of published work, will showcase the importance of using emerging market context to advance international business research.
