The topic was JOBS Act 2012: Employment, Investment Growth, and Capital Formation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Abstract of the talk given below<\/p>\n\n\n\n The JOBS Act of 2012 was a major financial market deregulation. Regulations were relaxed to encourage small firms to issue IPOs sooner\u00a0and acquire capital, leading to job creation and higher investments. A decade after the major deregulation, I examine whether the JOBS Act of 2012 and the Emerging Growth Company (EGC) provisions created jobs, increased investments, and improved access to capital. I find that EGC firms succeeded. The percentage of EGC firms that listed their shares on major exchanges was better.
