Funded by the Research Council of Norway and BI will, together with partners from<br \/>\nthe Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH), INSEAD, Lancaster University, Rotterdam<br \/>\nSchool of Management, take a system-wide approach to understand medicine and vaccine<br \/>\ndistribution. Aiming to design supply chains that function both under normal conditions and in<br \/>\ncrises, MIA includes patients&#8217; and governments&#8217; perspectives, a better understanding of<br \/>\ncompetition and the impact of digitalization. By building comprehensive models of the networks,<br \/>\ndifferent supply chain risk mitigation strategies, i.e. interventions, will be compared to see what<br \/>\nworks best under different circumstances. MIA planned to simulate an epidemic but was<br \/>\novertaken by coronavirus. The COVID-19 Supply Chain Task Force was set up together with<br \/>\nNIPH, Jimma University, Institute of Health and St. Pauls Hospital Millennium Medical College,<br \/>\nboth in Ethiopia. Here we study what we can learn from the response to and effect of COVID-19<br \/>\non causes to and interventions for solving shortage problems and include low-income and high-<br \/>\nincome countries.
