The second study was a follow up study on Compensation Committee processes on the boards of Indian public companies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Sthanu R Nair &amp; Prof. Leena Mary Eapen of IIM Kozhikode<\/strong> gave an interesting\u00a0 seminar on Farm Sector Performance and Food Price Inflation in India: Insights and Lessons from pre and post Economic Liberalisation Experiences on 2<sup>nd<\/sup> January 2014. For the purpose, the growth path of Indian agricultural sector is divided into four phases: pre-Green Revolution (GR) period (1950-51 to 1964-65), initial stage of GR (1967-68 to 1979-80), maturing stage of GR (1980-81 to 1991-92), and post-economic reform period (1992-93 to 2012-13).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professor Cyril Fouillet of the ESSCA Business School in Angers, France<\/strong> deliver<a href=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Cyrill-Fouillet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-151\" alt=\"Cyrill Fouillet\" src=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Cyrill-Fouillet-300x220.jpg\" width=\"233\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Cyrill-Fouillet-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Cyrill-Fouillet-1024x753.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Cyrill-Fouillet-624x458.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/><\/a>ed an interesting talk entitled \u201cBeyond\u00a0 borders. Perspectives on financial inclusion spatial dynamics\u201d on 13<sup>th<\/sup> February 2014. He discussed the spatial characteristics of financial inclusion in India and the spatial inequality in the delivery of financial services, the important feature of inequality, which seems to increase with liberalisation, economic growth and development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Ralph H. Abraham, from the mathematics department at th<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Ralph-H-Abraham.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-152\" alt=\"Ralph H Abraham\" src=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Ralph-H-Abraham-300x200.jpg\" width=\"234\" height=\"156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Ralph-H-Abraham-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Ralph-H-Abraham-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Ralph-H-Abraham-624x416.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><\/a><strong>e University of California, Santa Cruz<\/strong> spoke on the interesting topic \u201cAgent Based Modelling of Growth Processes\u201d on 27<sup>th<\/sup> March 2014. Growth processes abound in nature, and are frequently the target of modeling exercises in the sciences. In this presentation he illustrated an agent-based approach to modeling, in the case of a single example from the social sciences: bullying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof. Laurens J. De Vries and Prof. Otto Kroesen of \u00a0Delft University of Technology<\/strong> delivered seminars on <a href=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_1153.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-153\" alt=\"IMG_1153\" src=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_1153-300x225.jpg\" width=\"215\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_1153-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_1153-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/IMG_1153-624x467.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a>two separate topics on 27<sup>th<\/sup> March 2014.\u00a0 Prof. Laurens J. De Vries spoke on the topic \u201cEnergy research at the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management\u201d and Prof. Otto Kroesen&#8217;s topic of talk was Water issues, rural development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof.\u00a0 Bibhas Saha of School of Economics at University of East Ang<\/strong><strong>lia<\/strong> was in campus <a href=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/saha_photo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-188\" alt=\"saha_photo\" src=\"http:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/saha_photo-300x212.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/saha_photo-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/saha_photo-1024x724.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/researchblog.iimk.ac.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/saha_photo-624x441.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>on 11<sup>th<\/sup> April 2014 to deliver a seminar on Corrupt bookmaking, match-fixing and illegal sports betting markets. In many countries, such as India, where sports betting is not legal, the betting market is operated by bookmakers who may secretly maintain links with corrupt players with the intent of fixing the outcome of a sporting contest and defrauding unsuspecting ordinary bettors.
